My Blog is Moving
I've decided to make the switch from blogger to Tumblr. It's easier for me to add posts, updates, etc there and it's also easily tied in with the other places I can be found on the web. I hope you'll continue to follow me there. :)

Introducing....
the newest section of my shop: Wedding Invitation Collections.
I'm so excited to finally be adding these to my shop. I've spent a lot of time designing, planning, photographing to get ready for these. It's going to take a little time for me to get the others added, but my first listing is now live. The design is one I came up with awhile ago and have been fine tuning it recently. Its called the Alexandra Wedding Invitation and has a classy black and white themed design with a punch of pink color.
I'm very excited for the future with these items and my shop in general. I've been trying to do more networking and free advertising, so hopefully that will help out with getting noticed!
On another note it's a rainy day, but at least it's Friday. Have a great weekend everyone!! :)

Yikes!!
Egads it's been awhile since I've posted. It's been crazy busy around here. I've been working on a lot of new designs and getting them posted to both my Etsy and Artfire shops. It feels good to get some of the ideas out of my brain and actually onto paper. But that only frees up space for more ideas so the whole process starts all over again. :P
I'm really excited to announce that I will start adding Wedding Invitation Collections very soon. I have several designs ready to go and they just need to be photographed and added to the shops. They've been a long time in the making and I'm so anxious for them to go live. But I didn't want to rush into getting them on the site. I wanted to make sure the designs met my expectations as well as finding the right envelopes to accompany them.
In between all this, I continue to add to my stamp collection/obsession. I love stamps and love making stationery with them. So fun and they turn out sooo cute.
I also somehow found time to revamp my website (Backwoods Design Studio). My old version was ok, but it had way too much stuff crammed on it and it was kind of hard to get around on. The new and improved site is clean, easy to navigate and has large pictures for your viewing pleasure! :D I have more pics to add to the gallery and will be doing that very soon.
Hope everyone had a great week; so glad tomorrow is Friday!!

Etsy shop updates!
Well it's been a little while since I've posted. I have been busy re-working my shop. I have decided to focus completely on my invitation design instead of my digital photography. I didn't want to get so many different things listed in my shop that I didn't feel like I could handle each (and devote enough time to each). By focusing only on invitation/party designs, I feel that I can devote my time to this one area and come up with more designs faster. I've also added cupcake toppers - printed, punched and ready to add to your cupcakes for your parties! I still have more designs to add for invitations and cupcake toppers. It's kind of a slow process, but I'm getting there. :)

New designs being added
I'm currently in the process of adding more of my invitation/greeting designs to my Etsy shop. I plan to leave my photography up in the shop for sale. But I think I will go in the direction of making invitations/greetings the majority of my store. I've enjoyed designing invitations over the last many months on another site, so I will start printing my own in my Etsy shop. I have loved designing invitations since I began and I really find it fun to create new artwork for invites. Plus, it's so fun to know that your invite is part of an exciting time in someone's life.
Ever since I found out I was pregnant with my daughter, I have really had a lot of fun creating baby shower and birthday invitations. I also like to do bridal shower and bachelorette party invites, but I always find myself designing cute artwork for baby invites and kids' birthday invites.
Over the next several weeks, I will be adding many new invite designs to my shop. Be sure to check back often to see what all is new!

Yippee!!
So excited that I got my cardstock & envelopes ordered; I can start printing and adding my invitations designs to my Etsy shop very soon. I've been toying with the idea for awhile and have finally decided to go with it. I want my customers to have a variety of items to choose from in my store. Plus I just love designing invitations. :) Hopefully in about a week or so I will have some designs available in my shop to choose from. Sooo excited!
But in the mean time, here's a sneak peak:

In keeping with the theme of my previous post about painting, I thought I'd share one of my new paintings, which I have listed for sale in my Etsy shop.
I have a bunch of ideas floating around in my head for new paintings. I really wish I had more time in the day to devote to painting, so that I could finish them faster. But with a 9 month old, I'm really really limited on free time. As far as my style is concerned, I don't really have one specific style that I think I fit in. I pretty much just paint whatever I want and what comes to mind.
I currently have 2 canvas paintings available, but am hoping to finish more soon and get them added as well.

This painting is titled "Metallicized"; one color I used is metallic copper acrylic paint (which I love).
It is painted on 8x10" stretched canvas.
You can see more photos of this painting here.
